Newsletters
The newsletters were started six years after the Buxton Heath Wildlife Group was formed, when I obtained my first computer, and were distributed, free of charge, to BHWG members. Each issue related to a specific Heath visit (or sequence of visits), and listed those who attended, the species seen, the work that was undertaken, and anything else of interest. Other events listed included the aerial photographic surveys, BHWG open days, talks to local societies and groups, and management meetings. Later, I produced a few 'special' issues that listed the species that were observed prior to the formation of BHWG. Most of these early observations came from Group member David Ruthven who has visited Buxton Heath for over 50 years! Those early records certainly make interesting reading.
